Everyone who loves art and the beauty of our natural resources is invited to a reception at the Richmond Free Library on Wednesday, August 13, from 5-7 pm to meet the artists and learn about Gillett Pond through their visions of this quintessential natural resource. In cooperation with Friends of Gillett Pond, a minimum of 25% of each work sold will be given to the Richmond Land Trust to support the Pond. The sales will be made by contacting the respective artists and the amount of donation is printed on the labels.
The Art for Gillett Pond art show is being held for the month of August at the Richmond Free Library and the months of September and October at the Huntington Public Library. The art was created by a group of well -known local artists in support of Gillett Pond, the beautiful waterway located serenely between Richmond and Huntington. This show is unique in that all of the art, including paintings, photographs, and other media, represent the landscape, flora and fauna of Gillett Pond, and a portion of all of the proceeds of sales go to support restoration of the pond’s dam.
