This Saturday, July 15, we invite you to join us for an evening of live music and dancing. We'll start with the usual instruction/refresher lesson. That will be taught by Anna Rain, our caller for the evening (and yes, we know we may be tempting fate by inviting her to call!) If you are new to contra dancing, come by 7:30 so you can clean your shoes off or change them, before the instruction session which starts about 7:40. Contra dancing for everyone will happen from 8:00 to 11:00. Live music by the band Sycamore: Cedar Stanistreet on fiddle, and Michael Sokolovsky on guitar. They have been playing at many New England dances this year. All dances will be taught by the caller!
Come to dance, as usual, at the Capital City Grange Hall, 6612 VT-12, Berlin VT 05602, just one mile south of Montpelier.
We always love to have new folks join us! If you haven't been to a contra dance, check out the videos of folks dancing in the Grange Hall at: http://capitalcitygrange.org/dancing/contradancing/. You'll also see our revised COVID protocols--we are now masks optional. We encourage mask-wearing by anyone who wants to, but will no longer require masks. If you feel sick, please stay away and join us at our next dance.
Contra dance admission prices: $12 for adults, $5 for kids & low-income folks, or be a "dance supporter" and give us $20, to help us pay the wonderful callers, musicians and sound techs for the great work they do. Choose what price matches your resources. We're happy to have everyone who comes, whatever you pay!
