Dear Neighbors,
I know we are all feeling the devastation of these floods, and focused on the well-being of friends, loved ones, and fellow Vermonters who have been impacted and displaced.
I am coordinating with an incredible volunteer who has a large truck and a handful of other elected officials to help deliver supplies today. There are three ways you could help us fill the truck:
1. Please bring any of the items listed below to Hannaford's on Dorset Street between 11 am to 3 pm today.
2. If you can't make it to Hannaford's during those hours, you can drop items off at the following satellite locations any time this week: 16 Spinnaker Lane in Shelburne, Lyric Theatre at 7 Green Tree Drive in South Burlington, or 5 Florida Avenue in Winooski. They will be taken on a future delivery.
3. If you want to help and neither of the first two options work, you can Venmo me (@kesha-ram) or contact me about other ways to donate. I will purchase additional high need items locally. Please note this is in no way a political donation and all contributions will go to meet the expressed needs of hard hit communities. We have already raised over 2.5K!
Here is what ts being requested, generally new or in very good condition, and easy to stack:
Muck boots, waders
Sump pumps
Dehumidifiers
Cleaning supplies
Contractor bags
Heavy duty rubber gloves
Heavy duty extension cords
Shovels
Yard rakes
Push brooms
Bottled water
Diapers
Baby formula
Heat-resistant snacks (granola bars, beef jerky)
Laundry detergent
Spray bottles
Mops
Generators
We filled a truck yesterday and already sent supplies into the Barre/Montpelier area thanks to the generosity and kindness of neighbors like you. This is the Vermont Way, and we can be so proud of the ways we are coming together to help. It all matters.
Thank you,
Kesha
