Starting July 9th and going through the 15th, Branbury state park will be participating in the Statewide Invasive Plant Phenology Monitoring Project, also known as SIPPMoP! This weekend will have activities all about invasive plants and how to identify them and remove them from the ecosystems of Vermont
*Events will be held at either the naturalists table located next to the boat rental station, or the Nature Center. Look for the "Open" flag. In the event of any severe thunderstorms, outdoor events will be cancelled
Thursday 07/13
10 am – 12:30 pm: Make A Herbarium Journal
Bring your own notebook, use one provided, or make one at the nature center and get started on your very own herbarium journal! Join in on collecting and identifying plants while learning how to preserve them and keep them in your notebooks to use for identifying the plants around you.
1 – 4: Lake Chemistry
Take water quality samples and learn about the ecology and geology of Lake Dunmore! Supplies included.
Friday 07/14
10 am – 12 pm: Invasive Plant Crafts & Games
Learn how to identify the invasive plants of Vermont through a series of fun games and crafts! Activities include invasive plant go-fish, plant identification scavenger hunts, and more!
1 - 4: Lake Chemistry

Saturday 07/15
10 – 4: Statewide Invasive Plant Phenology Monitoring Project
Come by the Nature Center and learn about SIPPMoP and how to participate! All ages welcome; survey can be taken on paper or online through provided URL, so ask at the nature center for the kind of survey format that works best for you
Sunday 07/16
10:30 am – 2 pm: Lakeside Watercolors
Sit by the lake and enjoy some landscape water coloring while learning about the environment around you. Supplies provided; feel free to bring your own.
7:30: Evening Paddle
Meet at the Nature Center porch to join in on an evening kayaking trip around the lake! \ Free rental included or bring your own - rentals limited to the first 4 participants. Ends at dark.
