A free, field-based crash course in river science
Do you know what a healthy riverscape looks like?
Mike Kline, founder of the Vermont Rivers Program, will use the Rock River to teach us the fundamentals of stream dynamics, channel morphology, and how rivers respond to floods.
Conservation professionals, streamfront landowners, and neighbors -- this one's for you. Come ask a lifelong river scientist what you want to know.
Meet at the intersection of Penner Rd. & New Rd. in South Newfane, VT on at 8 a.m. on Friday, July 21 (rain date Monday 7/24). Hiking boots are recommended for this field walk.
A light breakfast will be provided.
