Do you know that some future Vermonters arrived by train from NYC and were orphans looking for new homes? That was a frequent occurrence all over the U.S. from 1854 to 1929. This talk will review the foundation for such events and discuss the fate of riders on one train that arrived in northern Vermont in 1905. If you have read any of the orphan train books that is good, if not, that is even better - you'll have more to learn.
