Hi all,
If you don't know me, my name is Keilani Lime, and I am an artist an activist. You may have seen me as the feature art story in the June 29 issue of the Addison Independent.
As mentioned in the story, I am in a war with a genetic condition, Classical Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (cEDS). It has caused me great health issues and in consequence, great medical debt. Just this weekend I had a fall because of unsteadiness due to cEDS, and was admitted to the hospital for four days.
A great friend and musician, Mike Scott — a.k.a. Restless Native VT, and Ian Huizenga of Hired Hand Brewing are throwing me a benefit to help with my medical bills this Saturday, July 15 at Bar Antidote in Vergennes. festivities start around 6 – 6:30 p.m.
Mike will be playing his awesome music and half of all beer sales will go to helping me with my medical expenses. I do what I can to give back to my community, but the love that I feel right now coming from all of you — especially Mike and Ian — is overwhelming.
I hope to see you all there, and if I don't know you, please come introduce yourself. I'll be the one with short blue hair in a wheelchair, or hopefully using my sparkly pink walker.
If you can't make the benefit and would like to contribute to my recovery, I do have a go fund me running and you can find that here: https://gofund.me/649d4e4c
Truly yours,
Keilani
