For the next six weeks, the library will be hosting a role-playing game series on Saturdays from 5-8 pm. This series starts with a two-part workshop on July 8th and 15th, titled "A Story Without an End: How to run role-playing games." This workshop is free and open to all levels of experience; ages 12 and up. To register, email albanypubliclibraryvt@gmail.com.

Here is a description:

As role-playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons explode in popularity, you may wish to understand how to run them for other players. In this two class series an experienced GM (games-master) will walk you through the basics of how to understand and run these games.

On the first week, we will cover the basics of what a role-playing game is and what some of the popular systems are today. Attendees will have the opportunity to create a character using the Dungeons and Dragons rule set and to play a small amount in order to get a feel for the game.

On the second week, we will cover brainstorming, safety, and group management, all the things that are very important in running one's own role-playing group. The class will endeavor to leave people feeling confident to begin creating and running their own role-playing adventure!
