Honeyberry Upick July 5-9th, 1-5 pm or by appointment at Cate Hill Orchard 697 Shadow Lake Road in Greensboro
Our honeyberry patch is open this week wed-Sunday from 1-5pm, or until we run out of berries. Honeyberries, also known as "haskaps" are a super hardy, early ripening, edible blue honeysuckle that has gotten very popular in Canada over the last couple of years. They look like an oval blueberry, taste like a cross between a blueberry/raspberry/kiwi , and make the best pies, jam, and smoothies. They are tart, and so delicious!! And ripe, NOW. $6/lb , u pick, (that's half their market price). We are also open to take a pint leave a pint.
DON'T bring your dog, do bring picking containers. Park in our driveway and give a honk or yell so we can show you the ropes. If we happen to be chasing sheep, the honeyberries are on the top of the hill in the orchard towards the left under a giant green bird net. Enter the net on the corner marked with pink flagging tape, and please pull it down behind you! —the birds love honeyberries. Pick wherever you like, the 2 rows furthest from the house have the most berries. We'll have the scale and pay station on our front porch..
