VERMONT WEEK AT VSC

Vermont Studio Center (VSC) is pleased to announce that Vermont Week (VTWK), residencies for Vermont-based artists and writers, are back. In 2023, VTWK will be held from November 11 to 18, and in 2024 will take place May 5 to 11.

Starting in November 2023, Vermont Week at VSC is fully funded, which means VSC will offer fellowships to all accepted residents. This investment is symbolic of VSC's commitment to the creative landscape of Vermont and solidifies VSC's role as a cornerstone of support for artists and writers living and working in Vermont.

"We are thrilled to be able to offer Vermont Week as a fully funded residency program," said VSC Executive Director, Hope Sullivan. "This is an important opportunity for artists and writers from across our state to gather and to create in a supportive and inspiring environment. Our generous donors know that Vermont Week plays a vital role in uplifting and celebrating the state's creative talent."

All residents are provided with private accommodations, private studio space, all meals, and access to local amenities. VSC's residency programming includes a Visiting Artists & Writers Program, which invites renowned visual artists and writers to join our creative community to present readings, give talks, and to meet with artists and writers in residence. Events are free and open to the public. Additionally, all are invited to present their work in a supportive community setting, and the experience culminates in an Open Studios celebration.

Applications for 2023 Vermont Week are accepted June 27 – July 31, 2023, via SlideRoom. Preference will be given to Vermont-based artists and writers who have not previously participated in Vermont Week. VSC is committed to diversity and inclusion and welcomes applications from all artists and writers.

To note: Vermont Week is for artists and writers who have been a resident of Vermont for a minimum of one year prior to the application deadline. Residency means that Vermont is your primary residence, and is the address you use for legal forms, state income taxes, car registration, driver's license or state issued ID, and/or voter registration. If you are accepted, proof of registry may be requested.

To apply please follow all application guidelines and submit a $25 application fee.
