Tomorrow, Thursday June 29th, at 6:30 PM Shelburne Fire will be conducting. a training exercise at the mouth of the LaPlatte River in Shelburne Bay. The point of the training will be to deploy some newly-acquired floating booms that we have in the case of a hazardous material spill into a navigable waterway. The deployment will take place South of the boat club to allow traffic in and out of those slips but note that the booms will span the whole river. Given the forecast we are hoping that the traffic up and down the river will be minimal but did want to give notice as this will affect access.
