How do the words "racial justice" land on you -- in your mind, in your body? Do they evoke a longing for a better world? A pang of guilt or confusion? An annoyance or irritation that you can't seem to find the words for, but that feels deep and real? Whoever you are, whatever your background, you are probably not immune to some strong feelings evoked by this important topic.
For several years now, the Mad River Valley Anti-Racism Initiative (MRVARI) has provided a setting in which neighbors can find support and guidance in exploring the vital, complex issue of racial justice. We come together to learn, grow, wonder, and respectfully challenge one another, continually resisting the temptation to point a righteous finger at others.
Month after month, we return to the opportunity to look within. We remind ourselves that, in order to bring about meaningful change, we must keep the focus on our own unconscious, internalized worldview -- and on our own good hearts. Please join our discussion this Sunday evening at the Village Meeting House (ground floor of Waitsfield Church), from 6:30-8:00 pm. All are welcome; you do not need to have attended before!
We hope to see you there!
