Looking for something interesting for the children to do this summer? The Rokeby Museum has two programs for students. On June 30 from 9:00-2:00, 11-15 year-olds can be a "Curator for the Day," spending the day "behind the scenes" at Rokeby Museum digging through the archives. Students will learn how to handle historic objects, how to tell a story with artifacts, and will create their very own exhibit for display in the Museum!
Then, in July, Rokeby holds a two-week immersive theater camp, incorporating aspects of history, nature and art. Kids gain stage experience while losing themselves in another time. Campers will draw inspiration from Rokeby's historic occupants, artifacts, letters, and pastoral property, to create their own fictional characters in an original play. Daily activities include improv games, journalling, nature walks, plein air painting, history talks, and cooking with historic recipes. Camp culminates with a performance for families and friends! July 10-21, Mon-Fri, 9:00am-1:00pm.
