On Thursday, June 29, at 7:30 p.m. our interfaith program will host Eileen Maddocks of Burlington, VT. She is a researcher, writer, and frequent guest on various zoom-cast programs. Her PowerPoint program will be based on her book 1844: Convergence in Prophecy for Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and the Bahá'í Faith.
What in the world happened in 1844? Followers of William Miller and the Millerite movement expected the Advent, the Second Coming of Jesus, in 1844. When the Advent did not happen as expected, the Great Disappointment ensued. Miller was wrong. But was he? Eileen will look at the prophecies and expectations of these religions converge to answer the question of what happened in 1844.
