Many EVs keep track of how much electricity you've used and how much you drive. This allows the car to compute the cost of fuel and compare it to driving a comparable piston engine car.
One of the EVs on display at EV EXPO used $1,185 electricity in the last 12 months. The car's app (yes, EV's frequently have apps) calculated that a comparable gasoline burning car getting 30 miles to a gallon would require about $2,311 in gasoline to drive the same distance.
In words the EV saved about $1,125. That's almost half of the combustion engine's gas bill.
EV Expo will be from 10 to 3 on Wallingford Day. Saturday July 15. It will be held in the driveway and parking lot of Baasch Dental, 42 North Main Street in Wallingford.
Hope to see you there.
