Parade with the League of Women Voters

Celebrate America's Birthday with the League of Women Voters and walk in the 2023 July 3rd Parade in Montpelier. Bring a friend or family member and have some fun!

Help remind people of the long fight for women to get the vote and how important it is to make our voices heard. The League will have signs and banners for folks to carry, bells to ring and patriotic wind socks on poles to wave!

Dress in your suffragist best - in a white shirt and white or black skirt. Men can wear white shirts and khaki or black pants (a bow tie would be great too). The League has 17 neutral colored broad-brimmed hats for women (or you can make your own) and "VOTE" sashes for everyone.

If costumes are not your thing, just wear all white on top and march with the League to promote a fair and healthy democracy!

The Parade starts at about 6pm following the Montpelier Mile race. Meet at the lineup which starts around 5pm on Spring & Winter Streets just off of Elm St. Marching time is about 40 minutes.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization encouraging informed and active participation in government. It influences public policy through education and advocacy.
