Title: Compassionate Responses to Community Members in Distress
Event date: Monday, June 26th
Time: 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Location: Champlain Valley Unitarian Universalist Society - 2 Duane Court, Middlebury
The COVID pandemic has raised our awareness that many among us have grown increasingly isolated, and in need of connection. How can we be there for each other in ways that are sustainable and nourishing for all involved? Please join us for a presentation by Dr. Dan Fisher and Sean Perry who will offer an intro to Emotional CPR (eCPR) as one way of being here for one another. eCPR is a trauma-informed approach to living that emphasizes: connecting through feelings first, respecting each other as equal human beings, enabling us to mutually share feelings and be together without fixing, judging, or imposing beliefs upon each other, allowing us to explore the unknown together in the present moment, releasing our power through our connection with the universe giving us new Voice, new Purpose, and new Hope.
Sponsored by Interlude at Counseling Service of Addison County (CSAC). This is an introductory talk with opportunities to sign up for full eCPR training on 6/27-6/28. To be added to the waitlist for the free 2 day training, email Zelda: zalpern@csac-vt.org. "Interlude" is a new program offering a welcoming space and peer and network based support for times of mental health crisis. Questions about Interlude or these trainings?
