Hello neighbors! It's summer, which means free band concerts with our Waterbury Community Band. We kick off the summer at 7:00 on Tuesday, June 20, in Rusty Parker Park in the heart of the Village. The band has grown a bit this year and expanded our repertoire, and we are thrilled to be back in the band shell in Rusty Parker Park. A bit of town history: The band shell was built by the Rotary Club in 1997 originally for the use of the Waterbury Town Band.
I'll post the concerts as they come up, but here is the 2023 concert schedule:
Tuesday June 20 7:00 Rusty Parker Park
Tuesday June 27 7:00 Rusty Parker Park
Tuesday July 11 7:00 Waterbury Center Park
Tuesday July 25 7:00 Waterbury Center Park
Tuesday August 1 6:00 Stowe Free Library Joint Concert with Morrisville Band
Tuesday August 8 7:00 Rusty Parker Park
Tuesday August 15 7:00 Rusty Parker Park
So bring the family, chairs and blankets, and enjoy the New England tradition of summer band concerts in the park. And look for our float (OK, trailer) this Saturday at the Not Quite Independence Day (NQID) Parade, which starts at 4:00.
And as always, if you would like to play with us, just bring your instrument, a music stand and we will find a chair for you! (Great way for students to stay in musical shape for the summer... )
See you in the Park on Tuesday!
