Urban Plant Walk at Winooski Library

Join illustrator and author Maggie Herskovits for a guided walk around Winooski to visit a diverse scene of urban habitats and meet the plants that call them home. Learn key identification characteristics, plant history and geography as well as fun facts about plants and the ruderal (urban) ecosystem.

Participants will each get a copy of the zine 'An Urban Field Guide to the Plants in Your Path'.

-Saturday, June 24 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
-Starts at the Library, 32 Malletts Bay Ave
-Free, no registration required
-This walk is suitable for ages 10+

About Maggie:
Maggie Herskovits enjoys connecting with people and place. She has worked as an urban gardener in NYC public parks and private spaces, garden educator and horticulture therapist. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY she now lives in Winooski, VT where she continues her work as a garden consultant while illustrating and writing about the plants in her path.
