A rare local appearance by Calais poet, essayist and award-winning translator David Hinton will take place this Wednesday, August 6 at 6 pm at the Aldrich Public Library here in Barre. Hinton has translated many volumes of classical Chinese poetry and philosophy, and is a poet in his own right and the winner of numerous fellowships and prizes. His most recent book is entitled "Hunger Mountain: A Field Guide to Mind and Landscape." Come share in this memorable literary event which is a part of the library's annual summer series "Authors at the Aldrich."
