First Congregational Church is celebrating Pride month with several opportunities open to the public. This Friday, June 16th, at 7 pm, we will be presenting a public viewing of the film, For the Bible Tells Me So. It is a 2007 American documentary film directed by Daniel G. Karslake. Reviewers Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat write: "Daniel Karslake has done us all a great moral service by creating for the Bible tells me so. It presents the tolerant and loving point of view of open-minded Christians, a group that doesn't get a lot of press and so some people think they don't exist. One of the many ways to support lesbian and gay equality is to take a group to see and discuss this documentary. Hopefully, this movie will empower a new generation of activists and allies." The film premiered at the 2007 Sundance film festival.

The film will be shown in the parlor of the church accessed from the Glidden Street side. 72 Pleasant Street, Claremont.

On June 22nd, First Congregational Church is hosting a Pride Trivia Night from 6-7:30 in Fitch Hall, also accessed from Glidden Street.

We also invite the public to attend the June 19, 5:30 pm Pride Flag raising at Broad St Park.
