Wednesday, June 21st, 2023 businesses all over Randolph join the Make
Music Day Vermont celebration with a full day of free music programming for all. This is
Randolph's fourth Make Music Day celebration. An annual, one-day event where free, live
musical performances, opportunities to make music and other musical events take place around
the world on the longest day of the year. Randolph's celebration has been organized in
collaboration with The Underground Recording Studio and Listening Room, Chandler Center for
the Arts and the White River Craft Center.
Galvanized by the town's passion for music and community events, Randolph will welcome the
sounds of sixteen (16!) performances. Vincent Freeman of The Underground Recording Studio
and Listening Room led the community organizing efforts to make this vibrant event happen
once again. Co-Organizer, Chloe Powell, the new Executive Director of Chandler Center for the
Arts, shared her enthusiasm saying, "It's really exciting to have Chandler be part of this
community event. It's been fun getting to know folks in the community and to see how many
people come together to pull off this town wide event."
Building on last year's success, this year will feature more musical performances and
opportunities for musicians to make music. For those looking to listen to great local music, there
will be free, live music performances throughout the day hosted by local restaurants and
businesses. New this year, Chandler Center for the Arts will host a mainstage show with the
Venezuelan/ American duo Larry & Joe, with a community engagement preceding. Early
evening at 5pm, the band will lead a bilingual singing workshop in Spanish and English at the
Bethany Church, prior to their 7:30pm mainstage show. Between these events at 6:30pm, a
Beatles song singalong hosted by the Randolph Singers will take place. An unplugged jam
session will also take place at the gazebo earlier in the afternoon. A fun day of activities for all
ages and musical interests!
