Vermont State Parks Partners with Switchback Brewery for Beer-Tasting Event
MONTPELIER, VT -- Vermont State Parks has teamed up with Burlington’s Switchback Brewing Company to hold the first ever Switchback Sunday event at historic Mt. Philo State Park. The rain or shine event will take place on Sunday, August 10th from noon to 4:00PM at the old CCC Lodge, on Mt. Philo summit. Mt. Philo is the oldest state park in Vermont and offers iconic views of the Champlain Valley and Adirondack Mountains.
The event celebrates all things Vermont with a variety of local beer, food, and music. Switchback will be pouring free 2-ounce samples of their Switchback Ale and Slow-Fermented Brown Ale. 10-ounce glasses of both will also be available for purchase for $2.00. Dakin Farm of Ferrisburgh will be on hand to offer samples of their famous cheeses, meats, crackers, and dips. Entertainment will be provided by the Vermont-based bluegrass and string band, Gold Town, who will be playing at this year’s Grand Point North Festival on Burlington’s Waterfront.
Switchback Sunday is free with day-use entry and to campers staying at the park. For more information on Mt. Philo or any of the other Vermont State Parks, visit vtstateparks.com.
