Want to learn to enjoy the river more, or improve canoeing skills that you already have? Join the UMATR Wild & Scenic Committee on June 17th for our Flatwater Paddling Lessons and Tour.

For this event, skilled instructors will lead the group through the basics of paddling canoes and kayaks on still water (lakes and slow flowing rivers). Topics covered will include: equipment needs and how to use them, how to get on and off the water, paddling techniques, basic water/river safety, and an introduction to simple self rescue incase of a capsize.

Canoes will be provided for those who do not have their own!
