"A SUMMER OF SAX" with the "NEW KANON JAZZ TRIO" at STONE VALLEY ARTS

A series of guest jazz saxophone players will be joining the New Kanon Jazz Trio every other  Wednesday evening this summer at the Jazz Cafe on June 14 and 28 and July 12 and 26. On June 14th, 7pm, the multi-talented Harry Drum will perform some of the best known jazz standard tunes as well as talking about and demonstrating the different types of saxophones. Harry Drum is a member of the " Enerjazz Big Band", "Satin and Steel" and the "Green Brothers" band and has performed with multiple professional touring musical groups. The performance will feature popular jazz repertoire and original tunes.

New Kanon Jazz Trio is talented group of musicians composed of Gary Schmidt, Ron White and Nick Aloi. Professional bassist and educator, Ron White is well versed in jazz, rock, classical and American roots music contributing to the trio's mellow tone. Nick Aloi brings his unique swinging style, developed over the last 50 years of playing on international stages and locally throughout the New England area. Gary Schmidt, a versatile pianist and composer has concertized throughout the U.S, leads the group on the piano with clarity, adeptness and finesse.

The Jazz Cafe series will take place at Stone Valley Arts on every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the months June through October. SVA invites you to come out and savor an evening with high-toned live jazz music, enjoy bar snacks and homemade desserts, BYOB. A cover/donation of $10 is suggested to help support cultural events at Stone Valley Arts.
