Celebrate Father's Day and Monkton's past with a cemetery walk followed by a presentation, "Getting Started with Genealogy." The event gets under way Sunday, June 18, at 1 p.m. at the East Monkton Cemetery, corner of Mountain and Church roads. Participants should be prepared to navigate uneven ground and no cemetery paths.

Less than a 10-minute walk from the cemetery is the East Monkton Church on 405 Church Road, where the genealogy program will be held from 2:15 to 3 p.m. Light refreshments will be available at the church, which has steps to the front door and a port-o-let.

Attend one or both parts of the event, which will be held rain or shine. There is no cost for this event. Donations are appreciated for use toward preservation of the East Monkton Church. Call 802-453-7575 for more information.
