MEDICARE FRAUD
The Vermont Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP), which is housed at the Community of Vermont Elders (COVE) in Montpelier, will be presenting Medicare Fraud seminar on Wednesday, June 28th at 11:30am at the Arrowhead Senior Center in Milton, VT. They will cover how it impacts the health and financial wellbeing of older adults, and also cover how to detect, prevent, and report it.
The Community of Vermont Elders has been operating in Vermont for more than 40 years to promote and protect quality of life for older Vermonters. Through a variety of programs, we advocate and educate on issues that include Medicare fraud, elder abuse, ageism, respite care, victim advocacy, and state policy. Since 2003 we have served as the Senior Medicare Patrol for Vermont. SMPs are federally funded through the Administration of Community Living and exist in every state. They empower and assist Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers to prevent, detect, and report health care fraud, errors, and abuse. This is done through outreach, counseling, and education.
