The Orleans Southwest Union Elementary School District (OSUESD) is facing a crisis in staffing and student enrollment on their Lakeview campus. At present, there are two openings for classroom teachers but, more importantly, a potential 2023-24 enrollment of less than 30 students, with projected future declines. The OSUESD school board is discussing several options that could mitigate this crisis. There will be a regular school board meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13th to openly discuss this matter and hear from the community. The meeting location is scheduled for Lakeview Elementary School and there will be a virtual option.
