Squishy Circuits Steam Program at Warren Public Library!

Past event
Aug 4, 2014

On Monday, August 4 from 9am-noon, the Warren Public Library will host a free STEAM* workshop. Participants will build playful and colorful sculptures using conductive play dough and jumbo LEDs and batteries. With these materials we’ll create both parallel and series electrical circuits and then use these patterns to build unique sculptures that light up! This engaging activity allows for all the fun of the play dough that we are used to while introducing the youngest of kids to the basics of electricity in a very hands-on and accessible way. The program is open to children ages 3+ though kids under 8 will need to have an adult stay with them. "Unaccompanied adults" who want to join in on the fun are also welcome!

Participation is limited to 15 and some spots are already filled. If you'd like to guarantee a spot for you or your child, please email kids@warrenlibrary.com.

*STEAM = Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts + Math

This program was made possible by a Vermont Community Foundation Innovations and Collaborations Grant. Partners on the grant include the Craftsbury Public Library, Vermont Makers, Vermont Public Library Foundation, UVM College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, The Vermont State Department of Libraries, Champlain Maker Faire and the Vermont Library Association.
