On Friday, August 8, at 7:30 (following the Adamant Cookout), the Nisht Geferlach Klezmer Band will perform at the Adamant Community Club. Admission is $5, and all proceeds will go towards maintenance of the Club. The band consists of Avram Patt of Worcester (drums and vocals), Steven and Kathy Light of Marshfield (trumpet and clarinet), and Rick Winston of Adamant (accordion). They are four of the seven original members of the band, which was formed in 1981, and has since played numerous concerts, weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs and other celebrations. The music is lively and soulful, originally of Yiddish Eastern European origin, but absorbing jazz influences once it landed in America in the early 20th century. Hope to see you there!
