The Orleans Southwest Union Elementary School District (OSUESD) is facing a crisis in staffing and student enrollment on their Lakeview campus. At present, there are two openings for classroom teachers but, more importantly, a potential 2023-24 enrollment of less than 30 students. You can see more detail below. The enrollment numbers appear to steadily decrease over the next several years. The school board is discussing several options below that could mitigate this crisis. There will be a regular school board meeting at 6:00 p.m. on June 13th to openly discuss this matter and hear from the community. The meeting location is scheduled for Lakeview Elementary School and there will be a virtual option.
