You're ALL Invited! Come Tour, Talk, and Eat Pie at the Grange!
Join us to tour the Charlotte Grange Hall in East Charlotte - formerly the Lyceum School House, and enjoy a piece of pie, and hear about Charlotte's One Room Schoolhouses.
Have you wondered what the inside of the Charlotte Grange Hall looks like? Did you know that there's a stage upstairs? Come see, and enjoy a tour of the building with Trina Bianchi.
Eighty percent of all Vermont students were taught in one-room schoolhouses in the first decade of the 1900's. At that time Vermont and Kansas were tied for first place in the US for the proportion of school-age children attending school. Charlotte at one time, had up to 14 schools scattered across the town!
Dan Cole from the Charlotte Historical Society will paint a vivid picture of Charlotte's early student education and the role one-room schoolhouses played.
A free event, including delicious homemade pie, coffee, and tea!
Sponsored by the Charlotte Grange in conjunction with the Charlotte Historical Society.
