Time to Plant the Pollinators!

Past event
Jun 8, 2023, 4 to 6 PM

It's time to plant our new pollinator pals in that big bald patch in front of the town office.
Four Friends of the Flora, Fauna, and Fungi are arriving June 8, 4 - 6pm to do the dirty deed.

Please join us if you:
Are pollinator curious
Love the feel and smell of fresh, rich soil yielding to your touch
Want to help plant our slew of sweet, young, perennial native plants

We could use another set of helping hands. No experience necessary. It should only take a couple of hours and the task is satisfying. These are mostly plugs, so the digging effort should be minimal and go quickly. We will weave through some soaker hose and water in these babies and be done!

And if you're intrigued, but don't want to plant or don't have time, please come by, even pull up a lawn chair and see what's happening. There will be a mature example of each native pollinator species to learn what these young plants have the potential to become. We've got royal catchfly, blue sage, harebells, poppy mallow, prairie smoke...just to name a few. AND it should be delightfully cool weather so says the forecast.

If you think you would like to plant with us, please respond to this post. Thank you!
