Conservation Commission members invite the community to help remove buckthorn behind Monkton Central School! Last year we cleared a significant area in the woods next to the playground and will be continuing this work. We will have some Uprooter tools available and would welcome extra hands. Meet next to the playground. You're welcome to come and go as needed. It is a bit of work, although not exhausting for most, so an hour or two might be just right and would be a big help to the project. You'll want to wear gloves and bug/tick spray.

Please note that this event was previously scheduled for Saturday, June 3, on the Monkton town calendar, but has been rescheduled for June 10.
