The Saturday after father's day, usually is set aside to support local charities in our community and one event is participating in the annual golf event at WoodChuck Golf. This year, June 24 we have a bit of a twist, and donations will benefit Central Vermont Pioneer Sled Hockey. We will not be asking for sponsors, prizes , raffle items or fees to play except for your satisfaction that you have donated to a well-deserved organization. Your donation to play or your donation to say "I don't play golf but love to support the Pioneers" will gladly be welcomed. This whole day is set aside for golfers and friends that would like to help the many needs of The Pioneers. We welcome donations of any amount to fund the many challenges that Sled Hockey has: to be able to outfit new and old players (with a sled, hockey sticks, helmets, safety guards, team shirts and advertising) , to travel to games, and ice time to practice and play.
Contact Nancy Emory for tee time June 24– nemory@gmavt.net or nancy.emory@outlook.com or 802-496-9416 Times available for 2-4 players are: 8am, 9:15 am, 10:30 am 11:45 am, 1:00 pm, 2:15 pm, 3:30 pm, and 4:45 pm.
Sled Hockey is a non profit organization that gives people with physical challenges opportunities that will last a lifetime. As a person with a disability, it can be hard to play sports and find people who understand your challenges, BUT in sled hockey you make friends and memories that impact for a lifetime. The ages of the players range from 6 years old (a new joiner) to 65 years.
