Capital City Band Practice on Wednesday; Drummer Needed

Past event
May 31, 2023, 7 to 8 PM

For over 100 years, the Capital City Band has played free summer concerts on Wednesday evenings on the Statehouse Lawn in Montpelier. As we prepare for this summer season, we welcome anyone who plays a band instrument at any age or level to join us.

We are especially in need of a drummer because our long-term drummer will not be able to play with us this year.

If you would like to join the band, bring your instrument, music stand, chair, and an optional stand-light or headlamp to our practices this Wednesday (May 31) and next Wednesday (June 7) at the Montpelier Pool Pavilion, located on Poolside Dr. off of Elm St, next to the Montpelier pool and tennis courts. The Pavilion is outdoors but has a roof, so practices will happen rain or shine. The practices are May 31 and June 7 at 7pm.

Concert Season on the State House lawn starts on June 14 and runs through August 16, 7-8pm.

Though Covid rules have loosened around Vermont and the US, we still ask anyone who feels sick not to attend.
