Moyer to Give Organ Concert at St. Luke's, Fair Haven

Dr. Karl Moyer, Organ master and Music Professor Emeritus, Millersville University, Pennsylvania, will present an exceptional concert of organ music on June 13th at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Fair Haven. This follows a 7p. m. service of Evening Prayer of about fifteen minutes.

Moyer will be playing several works on the village-church pipe organ at Fair Haven which were originally intended for large pipe organs in France and Germany. There will be Bach. He assures that the St. Luke's organ will do them justice.

For some pieces he will be accompanied by his daughter, Dr Cindy Moyer, a Professor of Music and department chair at Humboldt State University, Arcata CA. She is an equally accomplished musician on the violin. Of particular note: the Adagio and Fugue for violin and organ by Liechtenstein native Josef Rheinberber.

Area music lovers know Dr. Moyer from his well-attended previous concert at St. Luke's. He has been a choir director and church organist in Lutheran and Episcopal churches in Pennsylvania and is a member of a number of national organ societies, including the American Guild of Organists, which has granted him the Fellow (F.A.G.O.) certificate.

A Summer resident at Lake Hortonia, he is well known in the area and has travelled to St. John's Church in East Poultney as well, to bring its antique pump organ to life. He has appeared many times at First Congregational Church, Orwell, where he recorded the Hook organ found there,

The concert is free. All donations will benefit Fair Haven Concerned. A reception with light refreshments concludes the evening festivities. Everyone is welcome. Bring a friend!
