Outdoor Courts - Huntington Center (When coming from the Richmond direction turn right after the Huntington fire station and the courts are on your left.)

We have all of the equipment you will need, so just come on out and have some fun.

Pickleball is played on a court similar to a tennis court but a little different. It is almost always played as doubles and the court size is about one third the size of a doubles tennis court so it does not require as much running around as tennis which is good for some of us that don't move quite as fast as we once did. It is played with a paddle a little larger than a ping pong paddle and the balls are plastic with holes like a wiffleball. Scoring is different than tennis and more like table tennis. If you would like to take a look at the rules you can find a good summary at https://usapickleball.org › official-rules › rules-summary but the rules are quite simple and we will go over what you need to know.

There are some very competitive pickleball groups around the area if you really get into this, but around here we keep it much more casual. We always change partners after every game to mix things up and it is more about getting together with friends and getting a little exercise. There are some very good players here and we do play to win, but the emphasis is on having fun and newcomers are always welcome and we have found that once people get started they improve very quickly."
