Join us at the Heineberg Community Senior Center for a series of four workshops to educate seniors and their families about options available to increase awareness of resources in our community and to provide support in the decision-making process. SESSION I—June 8--Exploring the Emotional Side
This session will establish a supportive environment for exploring the issues of senior care. Key objectives include: 1—You are not alone. 2. Prepare to be flexible. And 3. Developing a support network.
SESSION II—June 15—Choices for Senior Housing
This session will include a panel of experts from housing, nursing care facilities, and adult day care programs. Speakers will explain the options, advantages, disadvantages, costs, and the process involved.
SESSION III—June 22—Staying at Home
This session will focus on ways to stay at home, including home safety, making modifications, and home caregiving.
SESSION IV—Making It Legal
This session will focus on the documents that seniors might need, including, advanced directives, wills, power of attorney, and DNR plans. We will discuss the things that need to be considered, coping with emotion and local resources for planning. What can we do to be prepared.
