Rochester Public Library invites you to learn the basics of stained glass construction and design. Join stained glass master, Midge Scanlan, for a free introductory lesson, Tuesday, June 6th at 2:00 on the Bandstand at the Park in Rochester.
There are many facets to constructing even the simplest of designs. You will learn a short history of the art and gain some hands-on practical skills on how to create a stained glass project. You will get a chance to practice cutting different types of glass, the assembly technique of copper foiling and by the end of the session learn how best to design a window.
You may not be able to construct a cathedral window after this session but by the time you leave you will no longer be afraid to cut glass.
