City Marathon Sunday May 28

Past event
May 28, 2023

Hello Neighbors! The 34th edition of the M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon is scheduled for this Sunday, May 28. There will be some travel delays, but the new course (fresh in 2021) is more condensed than the traditional course so if you're traveling during the race it will be easier than you may be used to.

In the NNE, the racers will be on North Ave from Battery Park to Leddy Park, with a detour through Lakewood Estates. They'll run through Leddy Park to get to the bikepath. It's a 2-loop course, racers will be in that area 7:55am-1:15pm, wheelchair racers a few minutes earlier.

Traffic notes:
--Runners are no longer on the Beltline, the Beltline is open all day
--North Ave, north of the Beltline, regular 2-way traffic with southbound vehicles in the center turn lane from Leddy Park to the Beltline
--North Ave, south of the Beltline to Battery Park is northbound traffic only
--Lakewood Estates, major traffic delays 8:00-noon
--Leddy Park Rd, closed 8:00-12:45

It looks like Sunday will turn quite warm. If you live on the race route, we hope you'll consider putting a sprinkler out for racers to run through or offering them a squirt from your hose. Of all the feedback we get from runners after the race, the thing we hear over and over is how awesome the community support is in Burlington for this race. That's about you - Thank You!!!

Any questions we can help with, please contact the marathon office at info@runvermont.org.
