Saturday, June 3rd, the Town of Wilmington is planning to hold a free Energy Fair with an additional emphasis on Emergency Preparedness. The fair will be held at the new energy-efficient Public Safety Facilities and include an Open House of the new Fire Station and Police Department, with limited access. Bring the kids to check out the fire trucks, police cruisers, ambulances, and other vehicles on display at this event.
The Jacksonville Blues Band will perform while the Volunteer Firefighters grill free hotdogs at noon. Families with children are welcome, and a parachute activity, face painting, and a bouncy house are all planned. The Energy Fair is a free outreach event designed to distribute information on resources, grants, rebates, and programs on everything from saving energy dollars to demonstrations of electric vehicles.
We will have around 60 Energy Kits to give away, so come early. Now is a great time to find out about the many opportunities to save money on heating, cooling, and even commuting. We also have a great list of free raffle (door prizes) and are looking forward to a great event! Make plans to stop by, grab some free lunch, and bring the family, from 12 pm to 3 pm on Saturday, June 3rd.
