I wanted to let you know about a great opportunity to learn more about S.5, the Affordable Heat Act, with others from your local community.
Join us for a community conversation to discuss S.5 on Monday, June 12th from 6:00-7:00pm via Zoom.
The webinar is being hosted by Sen Anne Watson (Was), Rep Saudia LaMont (Lam-Was), Rep Dara Torre (Was-3), and myself, with guest panelists Ben Edgerly Walsh of the Vermont Public Interest Research Group, Johanna Miller of the Vermont Natural Resources Council, and Lauren Hierl of Vermont Conservation Voters.
The Affordable Heat Act sets in motion a two-year process of design and study. In 2025 the legislature can approve, change, or reject these designs, which will change the way fossil fuel companies work. Fuel companies will need to provide folks with help in switching to cleaner, cheaper heating options.
