Join members of the Charter House community for a midday cookout and tour of the kitchen/ dining room! The organization provides emergency shelter, community meals, and individualized case management to improve guests' health and housing stability. Experienced volunteers and staff will be in attendance to teach community members about Charter House, cook hamburgers, and answer questions about how to get involved.
Volunteers have always been at the core of the Charter House embedded value of Neighbor Helping Neighbor, but most had to step away during the Covid emergency for safety's sake. As the need for shelter and nutritious meals has grown in Addison County, we are rebuilding our essential volunteer corps to help our professional staff get their life saving work done. To support the staff at CHC, we are seeking community volunteers to help with a variety of important jobs including
volunteer at Charter House - 2-3 hour shifts help us cover day, early evening and weekends help with food preparation for the breakfasts, lunches, and dinners donate prepared meals, healthy snacks, and fruit/produce/cookies/deserts
If you are looking to make an immediate impact in the community, please consider attending the barbecue to learn more about volunteering at CHC. If you can't attend but are still interested in volunteering, please email info@chcvt.org.
