Summer Music at Grace: 21st Farewell Reunion!

Past event
May 26, 2023, 7 to 9 PM

Summer Music at Grace kicks off this Friday, which means it's Farewell Reunion time! This year's featured performers are Young Tradition Vermont's Youth Commission and Pascal Gemme.

Performances start at 7:00 PM.

Pascal Gemme is a leading light in Quebec's traditional music scene. Known as much for his original compositions as his fine interpretation of traditional tunes, he is the fiddler, singer and arranger of the band, Genticorum, whose CDs have met with critical acclaim in several countries. From a young age, the fiddle music and songs of his native province have captivated him. After graduating from Montreal's St Laurent College, Pascal immersed himself in the traditional music around him, playing, collecting and recording music found all over Quebec. Pascal has developed a vast knowledge and is a leading exponent of the music of Quebec. More info about Pascal and Genticorum here: https://www.genticorum.com/

The Youth Commission is a Young Tradition Vermont program at Vermont Folklife, a group of high school-aged musicians who play and sing in traditional styles. Group members include Fiona Stowell, Emmett Stowell, Owen Kennedy, Fern Tamagini-O'Donnell, and Grace Martin. More information about the group here: https://www.vtfolklife.org/youthcommission.

This event benefits the Tom Sustic Fund, which supports families with children in life altering situations, including hospitalization and hospice care. Suggested donation $20. Please feel free to bring a dessert to share at intermission! Grace Church is located at 215 Pleasant Street in Sheldon (the brick church in the Creek) and is wheelchair accessible.
