Shelburne Museum associate curator of Native American Art Victoria Sunnergren speaks on the role of gender in historic Pueblo pottery at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 9 at the Worthen Library. Drawing from her decade of work with Native American art and her doctoral research Sunnergren will discuss nineteenth-century potters who identified as lhamana or kikwimu, culturally specific genders that are neither male nor female.
