Please join the Otter Valley Aquarium Society on Sunday, May 21st for our 14th annual auction to support our ongoing speaker program. The event opens to the public at 9:30 am for viewing the auction lots. The bidding begins at Noon and ends when all lots are sold (approximately 5:00 pm). Auction lots will include tropical fish, aquatic plants, aquarium equipment, fish food, books, and tank decorations.
There will also be a silent auction of aquatic plants and a bowl show competition with winners taking home $100 first prize, $75 second prize, and $50 third prize. We will also host a 50/50 raffle and there will be door prizes. You can expect to browse some 500 + tropical fish at this auction, with most being raised by local breeders! Many of these fish you will not see in the big box pet stores!!
To bring your fish to this auction you can preregister through our website ovasociety.org or register at the event beginning at 9:00 am. Preregistered lots will be sold with a 60/40 split of the final sale price while lots registered on the day of the auction will have a 50/50 split.
Our speaker program has brought in experts from all over the US as well as Europe and South America. We meet on the second Tuesday of the month (except for July and August) at 7:00 pm at the Maclure Library on RT 7 in Pittsford. Both our meeting and this auction are free and open to the public.
