If you missed the first Pollinator Pathways presentation, you have another chance! The same presentation will be given again, this time at the CAPA Symposium at Bennington College.
Here is the original posting:
Interested in Contributing to a Pollinator Pathway?
Your help is needed to contribute to a pollinator pathway in North Bennington VT, which will support important insect pollinators, such as butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees.
Insect populations are declining at an alarming rate- and this is affecting the pollination of our native plants, including the ones that humans rely on for food. A big part of the problem is habitat loss. Part of the solution lies with you! If people turned part of their lawn into a pollinator garden, this would make a huge difference in keeping these insect populations alive.
Pollinator pathways connect smaller green spaces together to create a larger habitat for pollinators. You can directly contribute to this pathway by planting a native pollinator garden in your backyard or local community garden.
The Green Mountains National Forest is coordinating a presentation in North Bennington so you can learn more about this project and how you can help. We will also provide resources and technical information on how to choose the best native plants for your backyard.
We would love to have your help in building North Bennington's pathway. Join us at the CAPA Symposium at Bennington College, on May 25, from 7-8:30pm. Hope to see you there!
