After a 3 year hiatus due to the plague, Open Fields School's Annual Medieval Festival returns to the Thetford Hill Green on Memorial Day Saturday, May 27, from 11am-4pm.
Come enjoy period music, food (including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options), desserts, and games for kids of all ages.
See the Knighting of the graduates by the King and Queen, the procession of the students (led by Benny the Dragon), catapult demonstration, dancing, as well as a presentation of "The Sport of Kings" by VINS, with live raptors.
Among the ongoing activities will be a children's quest and young person's maze; indigo dyeing, weaving, metalwork, calligraphy, basketmaking, knitting, and other period crafts; hair braiding, face painting, and more.
Start your summer off with a trip back to the Middle Ages, courtesy of the Upper Valley's oldest alternative K-6 school.
$7/person, free for children 4 and under. Costumes are always encouraged.
