The towns of St. Johnsbury, Danville, Cabot, Walden, Greensboro, and Hardwick received a grant to develop a Regional Amenities Plan for the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (LVRT) in our respective towns. This means identifying convenient parking, safety features, rest areas, and ways to connect to town resources, like businesses, local trails, and other points of interest. The consultant has begun work identifying some of these amenities and the next phase of the project is a Local Concerns Meeting, the first public meeting to get public input. Although Cabot only has 1.1 miles of the rail trail, given the anticipated increased use of the trail by residents and visitors, this is a tremendous opportunity for our communities economically and otherwise.
